3. Workflow
Can review cases (prior notes, etc.) ahead of time by accessing Soarian for schedule (ita5.nyp.org).
New patients are given 1 hr slots, follow-ups 30 min slots
Patients are registered up front and nurses obtain vitals.
Nurses put a green folder in your inbox, indicating patient is ready to be seen.
You call patient from lobby.

4. Workflow Open “Neuro Clinic Note”
For follow-ups, can copy-forward prior HPI, update and add in interval events
Interval events should include any patient complaints, progress of chief complaint, response to therapy
Full neuro exam for new patients (including fundoscopic) and focused neuro exam for follow-ups
I **highly** recommend writing note during interview

5. Workflow Save note with attending in clinic as co-signer
Update Med Rec in Prescription Writer
Leave and present patient to attending (more in-depth for new patients, brief background and interval events for follow-ups).
Return with attending or by yourself with updated plan, counsel patient.

6. Workflow Fill out SuperBill Must be done before visit is discharged
Click SuperBill icon in Eclipsys
Under “Health Issues” tab, select conditions addressed during interview and click ”Add”
Check the box for Provider Signoff and Billing code for description
Go to “Superbill” tab, select box near your name in “Ordered by” dropdown menu, search for attending name and select.
Click “Save” **NOT Submit

7. Workflow Ordering Tests/Making Referrals Click Enter Order in Eclipsys
Type Amb Adult Neuro for order set and select labs
If test/lab not available, can search in Eclipsys
For PT/OT or other rehab, see forms under Logistics/Basics>Clinic on Niresidents.org (password milstein)
Can also find relevant forms on USB drive connected to all computers in VC10
On Green Folder, write down all relevant tests to be ordered (e.g., MRI, bloodwork, ophtho referral, etc.), attending name and when to return to clinic

8. Workflow Writing Prescriptions
Click Prescription Writer icon in Eclipsys
Select User Preferences icon
Click Supervising Details, search for clinic attending and select name
Return to Prescription Writer and verify that Preferred Pharmacy is correct with patient
Click Add New Prescription button
Select dose, route, refills and make sure to select “Indication: “ and type in the indication
Click Review and Submit
From dropdown menu, select ePrescribe and click ok

9. Workflow
Use the whitebook for any clinical questions! It has a lot of good info for treatment and work-up of common outpatient neurologic diseases.
