Room 201 November 14th – 18th Week 13 Dates to Remember: Nov. 15th – Thanksgiving Feast – 12:00-12:45 Nov. 16th – Ecnomic fair Projects are due Nov. 17th – Classroom Spelling Bee and Boosterthon Fun Run – 2:15 – 3:05 Homework: The November Homework menu is posted on my website. Remember homework is due on Friday. For every 3 assignments – one math, one reading and one free choice OR Project you will receive credit. A Peek at our Week: 1. Reading/Language Arts Reader’s Theatre 2. Writing Imaginative Stories Grammar – Adverbs 3. Math Coins – coin recognition and counting a collection of coins Personal Financial Literacy 4. Science Forms of Energy 5. Social Studies Needs and Wants What can I do at home? Practice math fact automaticity!! Reinforce what we are learning in the classroom by reading to your child and having them read daily. Always practice retelling a story in the correct order and including all important details. Students should be writing words that are legible and easily read (even if they are not spelled correctly). Encourage sentence writing utilizing correct punctuation and capitalization. Students should be sounding out simple unknown words while reading.
