Mission Statement The WSISD Center for Transition Services is dedicated to helping students with disabilities to excel in society. The center will provide transition services that include vocational training, employment advocacy, independent living skills, community access skills, and social/recreational activities. The center will be a place where people with disabilities are able to build relationships, realize future career paths, and seek independence and community integration with a commitment to serve.

We are all very committed to the number one goal of the Transition Center………INDEPENDENCE.
Our focus is never the disability but building on the ABILITIES each of these young adults possess. We are all about increasing their confidence and supporting them in whatever future they choose.

PRIDE & DREAM Full day ADULT programs Independent self-care skills
Practice home living skills (cooking meals, chores, home maintenance) Weekly Job Shadowing in the Community and mock jobs at the Transition Center

Developing appropriate social skills in adult situations
Tour different businesses to learn about a variety of jobs and experience community access trips that fit their interests. Participate in recreation/leisure activities (workout at YMCA, try different hobbies, community options – Library/Rec. Center, plan social activities)

Community access (shop for self, find information for events in community, transportation options, run errands – laundromat/bank/post office) Monitor own time and schedule Build relationships with other adult peers

Things to Know… All ARD’s and other meetings will happen at CTS.
They are adults……..treat them as adults. Allow them to practice at home what they are doing at CTS……Expecting independence both places .
