1 Why Do People Err? It is an indisputable fact that there is much religious division. All cannot be right. For instance, “Baptism is sprinkling/Baptism is immersion.” For there to be “right,” there must be a standard: 2 Timothy 3: 16, 17, 2 John Hence, all that does not conform to this standard is error.

2 Erring from the truth is serious:
Why Do People Err? Erring from the truth is serious: “19: Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; 20: Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins: (Jas. 5).

The causes for religious error are precisely the same today and also involve the same serious consequences (John 8: 32, 4: 24, 2 John 9-11).
