Secondary Math II 9.2 Soh-Cah-Toa; Setting Up Problems
2
Warm-UP Label the sides of the triangle: Hypotenuse Adjacent Opposite
Set up the relationship: πππ π»π¦π π΄ππ π»π¦π πππ π΄ππ
3
Read the questions - what is it looking for?
Quiz 15/16 Youβve got this!!!! Take a deep breath Read the questions - what is it looking for? When you are done, place your quiz face-DOWN on your desk (weβll pass them forward when everyone is done)

Math tutoring is available in the LIBRARY Monday-Friday 3:00-4:00.
(Mrs. Riggs is there on Thursdays) Attendance recovery is offeredβyou can go there and work on homework and recover attendance credit for any class! (5 hours=.25 credit)
5
What you will learn I will be able to set up trigonometric ratios for sine, cosine, and tangent in a right triangle. I will be able to identify which ratio to use to find a missing side.
6
Recap Last time, we learned how to identify the sides hyp, opp, adj based on an angle. THEN: opp/hyp; adj/hyp; opp/adj relations

You can memorize SOH - CAH - TOA
OR use a saying/sentence!!! (like Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally) Create your own sentence or saying that starts with the following letters: SOHCAHTOA Example: Some Old Hag Caught A Hairy Toad Ordering Avacados *Write it on your exit ticket!

14
Three different cases can happen:
h o sine a o tangent h a cosine
15
Examples using sine: x 15 12 x
