Unwind DNA
Unzip DNA & Separate Strands
Match up complimentary RNA bases to DNA bases.
Connect RNA nucleotides together.
Connect DNA back together.
*Enzymes do all of the work!
The End Result:
1 molecule of mRNA
RNA genetic code = DNA genetic code

5. (3) Matching Complimentary Bases

RNA nucleotides are matched up moving 3’ to 5’ along the DNA template strand.
Enzymes can only move in this direction!
