Greenstick Fracture

2. What is it?
A greenstick fracture is a fracture in which the bone is partly bent but does not completely separate. It is the simplest type of fracture and is most common in children.

3. Treatment Various treatments include:
wearing a cast to reposition the bone (4-8 weeks)
a removable splint if the bone is mostly healed
X-rays are required
avoid high-impact activities for another week or two
occasionally physical therapy

4. Complications
Complications vary due to age and severity of injury. They typically include:
infection
additional damage to the surrounding nerves, tissue, and organs
for children, may affect the way the bone grows later on
