1 Trip to St. Mark’s College Thursday 2nd May– Friday 3rd May
Year Three Residential Trip

2 Where is St Mark’s?

3 Why St Mark’s? Trip builds up to staying away for longer periods of time Close distance to home Increased independence Increased confidence Team building Fun!

4 Thursday : Layer Marney Towers
Included in the price we will take the children to Layer Marney Towers. Whilst there, the children will have the opportunity to learn about the Tudors (our topic later this year) and engage in a variety of Tudor themed activities.

5 Thursday Afternoon – Arrive at St. Mark’s
St. Mark’s College is a wonderful centre, with great resources, excellent accommodation and specially trained staff. The building is steeped in history, reaching as far back as 1258.

6 At St. Mark’s, there is ample space and lots of outdoor play equipment.
In the evening we take part in some exciting activities!

7 Catering is of a high standard under the supervision of a qualified chef. Dinner will be a hearty meal, and there is plenty of choice at breakfast time. Special diets are always catered for.

8 The bedrooms are small and cosy with adjacent toilet facilities (staff bedrooms are adjacent to those of the children). Furthermore there is a dining room, a comfortable lounge and a chapel in the main building. All bedding is provided. However, children are expected to make up and strip their beds during their stay, so it is useful if the children have plenty bed making experience!

9 Friday Morning : Saffron Walden Museum
The College will provide us with a packed lunch for the day. We will spend time learning about the artefacts. We will aim to be back at school around 3:10, dependent on traffic. In the event that we are much later than this, parents will be advised via schoolcomms.

10 The cost will vary depending on the number of children we take
The more children that go, the lower the price 33 children = £80 per child This will be paid on Gateway. We have not included spending money in this cost but remember the more money you give the children, the more they spend. To make it fair we suggest no more than £7.
