What are migration and mobility?
Migration- permanent movement to a new location. Mobility- all types of movement from one place to another.

What is net-in and net-out migration?
Net-in migration~ positive migration rate; there are more immigrants coming to a place than emigrants leaving. Net-out migration~ negative migration rate; there are emigrants leaving than immigrants coming.

Permanent movement compelled usually by cultural factors.

7) What is a refugee? Someone who is forced to migrate due to fear of persecution because of their race, religion, nationality, membership in a group, or social group.

Refugees from Vietnam that were saved by U.S. Naval Officers. They were saved from persecution.

What are the characteristics of the major waves of immigration to the United States?
Characteristics of major immigration waves include people leaving a place because of a bad government, fear of persecution, and wanting a better life in America.

Net migration from urban to rural areas in more developed countries.
