Make sure you are completing your daily plan. Make sure you are attending all required class connect sessions. Dear Students and Families, Happy Friday! We hope that you all had a wonderful week and are looking forward to a fun and relaxing weekend. We have enjoyed reading your work samples and are very proud of your hard work! We will continue to focus on writing and writing skills in your ELA class connect sessions. As a reminder, homeroom teachers are completing required conference calls. You should expect a phone call sometime over the next few weeks to discuss your student’s progress in the OLS and other assessments. We look forward to speaking with you! If we reach your voic , please give us a call back as soon as possible. Please be sure to log into your USA Test Prep account each week to complete these activities as they do count as a grade. You may attempt the assignment 3 times. Also, you should be completing the items listed on your daily plan and checking your grades in the gradebook to make sure you are not behind on any assignments. Keep up the great work! 2 Read Your Way to the Big Game!
Your child’s ability to read is a critical predictor of educational and lifelong success. Help establish a strong literacy foundation for your child and support the Gamecock & Clemson championship traditions by participating in the South Carolina Department of Education’s 2017  Read Your Way to the Big Game contest. All pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade students who read six books will qualify to win tickets to the Clemson vs. South Carolina game on November 25.  Once students have completed their readings, they should the list of books read to their teacher. And, then enter to win by using the online entry form. Winners will receive four tickets and pre-game sideline passes to the Clemson vs. South Carolina game. 4 Class Connect Sessions are on your plan! Please be sure to attend.
Check your Weekly Plan in the OLS You should see both Required and Optional Sessions on your schedule. If a session is Required: Attendance is mandatory. If you miss a session, your Learning Coach will need to contact the teacher for that class If a session is Optional: Attendance is NOT mandatory, but encouraged. Study Hall/Live Help Sessions are available for you to meet with your teacher for help with a particular subject area. These sessions are optional.

5 ***Starting 9/18, you will see weekly required USA Tesprep Assignments. They will always appear on Mondays and will be due on Fridays. If you do not do well on the assignment, you may retake it up to 3 times:)

7 Work Sample #1 Attention Grades 3-5 OLS Updates
Work Sample #1 Attention all Students! Did you complete your first work sample? Your very first work sample will be available in USA Testprep starting on 9/5/17 and will be due on Friday, September 15, Please login to your USA Testprep account in order to complete your work sample. You will see your assignment on the very first page once you login. Please reach out to your ELA teacher if you have any questions.

8 Join the Club… Check them out at NOTE: In-year clubs are one hour sessions, one to two times a month from September through May. We encourage students to select no more than 4 of their most favorite clubs. Once you have been registered for your clubs you will begin receiving s from your club teachers and club sessions will appear on your Class Connect schedules. Choose from one of these categories: Language Arts-History Math, Science, and Technology Hobbies Music and Art Success Builders World Interests
