Pictured is David a little Malawian boy (named after David Livingston) he is a little sad because he is a bit hungry and would love to go to school and see his friends. Children like this little boy have no taps in their house; no television, no lights or heating, no cooker/microwave. Do you think he has a shower each day? What will he have for breakfast?

Indeed some children have to work to get food for themselves and for their families. Picture - kids working in a tea plantation they have been sent to gather water. 8

MMs only feed in schools; A MMs attracts hungry children to school because they know that they will get a meal. Once in school they have the opportunity of an education. We believe that this education offers each child an opportunity to lift themselves and hence their community out of poverty. The schools are often overcrowded and poorly equipped What’s different about this school and your school? What’s better/worse?

This photo shows Mary’s Meals volunteers in Malawi. The volunteers are often the parents of the children who attend school. Many parents tell us how happy they are to have this opportunity to feed their children. They know better than anyone how important it is for children in their communities to gain an education.
