Do we take too much credit for ourselves? (cf. Lk. 12:13-21) Moses – Num. 17:10 Rom. 1:25, 2 Tim. 3:1-5 Psa. 29:2, 1 Cor. 3:6 Luke 17:10 “Let another man praise you, and not your own mouth; A stranger, and not your own lips.” (Proverbs 27:2)

To Your Name Give Glory (1-2)
His name, mercy and truth – qualities that define and personify Him Why should the Gentiles say, “Where is their God?” 1) Sometimes Israel punished in such a way people would inquire about God 2) Live so that man cannot say that Matt. 5:16, 1 Pet. 4:12-14, 3:16

Our God Is Real (3-8) Our God is in heaven He is sovereign – do what He pleases (Eph. 1:5, 9) He proves it! Idols have no power (4-7) Those who make them are also weak – Isa. 44:9-20

Our God Is Real (3-8) Is idolatry a problem today? Many serve other gods – Islam, Eastern religions, naturalism, etc. Col. 3:5 You cannot serve God and mammon – Matt. 6:24

Trust in the LORD (9-11) Israel and the house of Aaron called to trust in Him – the people and the priests “You who fear the LORD, trust in the LORD” – all who follow Him! He is their help and shield – He can defend and protect us – Prov. 3:5-6

Blessed by the LORD (12-18) He is mindful of us and will bless us Blessed – to receive the favor of God Matt. 5:3-12, Eph. 1:3, etc. Both small and great – Ac. 10:34-35, Rom. 2:11

Blessed by the LORD (12-18) Vs. 14 – He can give us increase – an example of how He can bless us Vs. 15, “May you be blessed by the LORD, who made heaven and earth.” NOT by some other god who is not.

Blessed by the LORD (12-18) Vs. 16 – Why? Because the heavens belong to Him! Psa. 19:1-2, 89:11 “But the earth is given to the children of men” - we are its stewards Gen. 1:28, 2:15, Psa. 8:6-8

Blessed by the LORD (12-18) Vs. 17 – The dead do not praise Him – acknowledge Him while you still can Heb. 9:27, Isa. 38:18 “But we will bless the LORD” the godly DO praise Him, both now and beyond this life.
