4 Review of pre-lab 2b. Decantation – a process for the separation of mixtures by carefully pouring off the liquid without disturbing the participate 2d. Precipitate = Solid that forms from a reaction of aqueous solutions 2f. Supernatant liquid - the clear liquid above a precipitate 3. Molarity = moles solute/liter solution 8a. Filtrate is blue because Cu2+ is present 8b. Do not discard the filtrate because Cu2+ is present 8d. How might a blue color in the filtrate be avoided? Add excess Na3PO4 to react all the Cu2+
