Cartier reported they were in conflict with another First Nation Group. Possibly the Haudenosaunee? Cartier reported an epidemic among the Stadacona’s (small pox or another disease) SMALL POX: A disease that causes the skin to break out (pox), accompanied by a high fever. All we know is that seventy years after Cartier had left, nothing of Stadacona or Hochelega remained.
