2 When did it take place? and Where?
It started in 1947 and ended in the 1960’s. Blacklisting took place Nation-wide, but Hollywood was mostly effected by it. The Blacklist Started in 1947 and ended in the early 1960’s Blacklisting was mostly in the U.S. but it was mostly Hollywood who was effected by it.

3 What does Blacklist mean? Who was on it? Why?
Blacklist – A list of people under suspicion of communism Hollywood Celebrities who refused to tell HUAC members whether or not they members of the communism party. All 10 served time in 1950 for up to a year in prison, fined $1,000, and were “blacklisted.” It eventually grew to 150 names and carried out to the 1960’s.

4 What does HUAC stand for?
HUAC – The House Un-American Committee of the U.S. Congress What did the committee stand for? To follow a series of official inquiries into the film industry in Hollywood. HUAC stands for the House Un-American Committee of the U.S. Congress The committee stood for following a series of official inquiries into the movie business/film industry.

The effect of this on people in America is that it created a sense of fear. The effect that it had on America was that it created a sense of fear/ it scared them.

8 How did it shape our world today?
The government is trying blacklist websites. It shaped our world now because the United States Congress is trying to censor the Internet at home.
