7 Acts 7:51 You stiff-necked people! Your hearts and ears are still uncircumcised. You are just like your ancestors: You always resist the Holy Spirit!

9 1 Thessalonians 5:19 ‘Do not quench the Spirit’.

11 Mark 3:28-29  ‘Truly I tell you, people can be forgiven all their sins and every slander they utter, but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; they are guilty of an eternal sin’.

17 In Heb 6:4-6 ‘It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age 6 and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace’.

18 g. Grieve the Spirit

19 Grieve the Holy Spirit, Quench the Spirit, Resist the Spirit, Lie against the Holy Spirit, Test the Holy Spirit, Blaspheme the Spirit, Turn against the Spirit

20 Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God with whom you have been sealed for the day of your redemption.

21 We are in a daily relationship with the Holy Spirit founded on love

22 3. How do we grieve the Spirit?

23 Eph 4:32f ‘Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God’.

24 Eph 4:30 Do not grieve the Holy Spirit … Eph 4:31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling (clamour) and slander (evil speaking), along with every form of malice (all evil things).

32 ‘Jesus said You know how to give your children good gifts, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him’. (Lk 11:12-13)
