3 Like others early civilizations, early China and India were similar in that both developed along rivers where the soil was fertile.

4 Early China was located along the Yellow (or Huang He) and the Yangtze Rivers.

5 The early Chinese people were the first to develop written Chinese and set up a dynasty to rule China. Xia Dynasty

6 Early India was located along the Indus River.

7 The early Indian cities of Harappa and Mohenjo-Daro show evidence of some of the first urban planning.

8 The early Indian people were also the first to grow cotton and weave it into cloth.
