WHO ARE WE? “Our purpose is to function as a resource for students who are pursuing or thinking about pursuing a career in the field of law. It helps students with similar interests grow together and pursue their dreams. Throughout the year, there will be various guest speakers in different areas of the law field to help students better understand different areas of law and expand knowledge on different types of law careers.”

Meet our Advisor! “Courtenay W. Daum is an Associate Professor in the Political Science Department and Affiliate Faculty with the Center for Women’s Studies and Gender Research at Colorado State University. Daum’s research focuses on the interaction between law and society including LGBTQ politics, feminist legal theory, and organized interest mobilization and litigation in the courts.”

What do I need to do to become a member?
Required to come to at least 2 meetings per semester, but we HIGHLY recommend you come to more if you can!! **If want to apply for an officer position at the end of year, you are required to come to 4 meetings per semester The only potential cost for the Pre-Law club is on a club T-shirt, that can range from $10-$20. (You only have to get one if you would like one) May have to provide your own transportation to some out of campus events (CU/DU law school tour, courthouse tour, etc.)

What are some events we have planned so far?
Sept 28th- Admissions Director from Montana Law School October 26th- Admissions Director from Willamette Law School November 9th- Phil Vagos(Attorney for Meinster and Associates) ***In the works of having a Magistrate, District Court judge, law clerks, current JD students, and a Kaplan LSAT prep rep, coming to speak. ***We also are going to have a debate day as well as a tour of the Larimer County Courthouse and a tour of CU/DU law school.

Legal Studies Minor Law School encourages students to apply from all different types of Majors, but what is a way to help better prepare yourself for law school? 21 Credits Talk to the Liberal Arts office located in the 1st floor of Clark C for more info!! “The Legal Studies interdisciplinary minor provides a broad-based academic foundation for students interested in legal or law-related fields. This minor is intended for students who plan to attend law school, as well as to those who are interested in a wide range of careers in which some grounding in legal studies is helpful, such as media, business, human resources, communications, government service, and others.”
