1 How does your product use or challenge conventions?
Question 1 (a) How does your product use or challenge conventions?

2 Like we saw in multiple amounts of scenes of our research videos, it was the high use of low key lighting. Its use in the scenes of both our video and the movies we research it seemed to be used to help create a more open and creepy ambience. It also helps build suspense and makes you keep wondering what will happen next or what will pop out at me next. The low key lighting also makes the viewers depth perception and or vision of what is on screen very limited making it hard to know what will be popping up next or what is going on in the scene creating tension throughout. So the use of low key lighting in our video in the end did help us create the atmosphere that we wanted and it gave the same affect that the movies had which for our project help make it the scary and creepy vibe we were going it for

3 Another convention we used and saw from all of the movies we researched used strong and loud stings when a bad guy shows up or if something dramatic happened and over dialogue or action they use a creepy score which helps make the scene more intense then it would be without it. We felt that both scores and stings were the most important addition to the video because without it, it would be hard to make a creepy atmosphere that suited our video without having the stings and scores in the background of our video. We used stings when I (The Killer) Came into frame for either the first time or after a sort of long take of Valentino; we also used them to show when a scene of action occurred.

4 We also used close ups which help provide the emotion the character seems to be feeling and how the character is reacting to what is occurring which is what had used a couple times on Valentino to show his scared emotion of the situation that is occurring.

5 Dialogue was used in all 4 movies but we felt that dialogue would distract the viewers from what is occurring and if we used it that maybe the acting wouldn’t be up to par and would make it more funny than scary which would change the whole atmosphere of the film.

6 High Angles were used in every scene which helps to make the character more vulnerable which is why we used it on Valentino to show that even though he was escaping he is still not the one in power in the scene that I showed to the right

7 How does It represent social group issues?
Question 1 (b) How does It represent social group issues?

8 We saw that in 2 of the 3 movies that we researched that both “Split” and “Saw” used the idea of kidnapping which lead our group to the idea of kidnapping and this social idea is something that occurs everyday in real life which for an audience we felt would make them have more fear since the thing that people fear the most is something that could happen to them for no apparent reason which makes it eve more creepy and daunting of an idea for the video.

9 Question 2 Audience and Real Media Text
I feel like our main choice of audience would be teenagers or young adults because the horror genre today mostly appeals to people is a broad sense which is why feel like they are our main choice of audience to watch the movie Our opening scene I feel like would be used on streaming sites such as Netflix or Hulu which are two widely known sites

10 Question 3 Production skills
I feel like throughout the process of this project that my skills have definitely improved. Noah and I both worked on the editing of the video which helped learn how to use the editing software and it also helped me know exactly what parts of the filming was not needed and why we cut out some parts. Although I did not use the camera to film I did help give ideas on different kind of shots we would be able to use throughout filming.

11 Question 4 Equipment Used
The equipment we used were a Canon Rebel Camera, a Tripod, and various IPhone Camera flashlights that we used throughout the Video We also used the editing software on the Mac called Imovie
