Warm-up: A stockbroker’s client decides to buy $10,000 of Microsoft stock. The stockbroker charges a $20 commission on the sale. What part of the transaction (if anything) counts in the current year’s GDP? Learning Target In order to understand how to measure and evaluate economic performance, I will analyze the nuances of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). I will know I have it when I can: (1) determine whether or not an activity counts in the GDP; and (2) list and analyze the components that make up the GDP.
