Goal: Provide staff and parents with structured and sustained educational best practices that will improve academic, social, and emotional learning for all students.

A1. Develop needs assessment survey
Needs Assessment currently used is developed through the cooperative and serves broader needs for all LW feeder districts. The same survey has been used with parents/staff in the Spring of 2015, 2016, and 2017. A2. Develop annual timeline for implementation of the needs assessment (include collection, analysis, and communication of data results) Collection of data occurs during the months of March/April Analysis completed during May/June Communication occurs in August/September with staff and October for parents/school board

B1. Utilize data results from annual needs assessment to develop professional development timeline for fiscal year In July, planning for the annual professional development calendar begins by working with building administration, focusing on the survey results. The annual calendar is shared with district staff in the Fall. B2. Allocate professional development budget using local, state, and federal funds based on needs assessment data results In July, planning for the budget on professional development needs occurs so the budget presented to the School Board in August reflects the accurate expenditures. Communicated to School Board during the summer months.

C1. Develop form for internal and external experts to complete with areas they can provide parent/staff development for the district. Already created experts in targeted training areas of need. Still need to develop a form to have internal/external experts complete by March 2018. C2. Complete database of internal/eternal resources to be used for parent/staff development Target date of completion June This will allow us to use the database for planning professional development for the FY19 school year.

D1. Develop parent development annual timeline according to needs assessment
Parent Academy Schedule created annually. Spring Needs Assessment results drive topics. D2. Communicate parent development annual calendar via , website, etc. Parent Academy communication on websites, Facebook page, and Sky Alert message sent to parents beginning one month prior to the event, describing the opportunities available.

E1. Gather parent/staff development feedback concluding each opportunity
Staff feedback is collected concluding each opportunity. During school year, Parent feedback form will be developed and used thereafter. E2. Include questions on annual needs assessment survey regarding effectiveness of concluded staff development. Needs Assessment currently used is developed through the cooperative and serves broader needs for all LW feeder districts. The same survey has been used with parents/staff in the Spring of 2015, 2016, and 2017.

Incorporate strengths and weaknesses of parent/staff feedback when developing upcoming year’s professional development calendar Parent feedback form will be analyzed once developed and collected.
