The Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Subboard Certifying Examination Requirements for Board Certification Medical license Certification in General Pediatrics Fellowship in ACGME-accredited program Passing score on subboard examination Offered every 2 years Closed book and proctored 4 1/2-hour time limit Next given on Monday, March 30, 2009

The Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Subboard Examination Written by hematology-oncology subboard members (n=7; serve 6-year term), with suggestions made by diplomates Approximately 230 multiple-choice questions Each question tests knowledge bite from ABP content outline Stem (background and question) and 4 or (usually) 5 choices Examination Questions

ABP Program for Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Formerly called recertification Required for certificate holders whose first certificate was granted after 1988 Requirement for secure proctored examination in testing center adopted in 2003 Currently 7 year cycle –Those certifying in 2010 and beyond will have 5 year cycles and enter the new MOC program
