© Presto Plans Read the paragraph below and find examples of metaphor, simile, onomatopoeia, personification, oxymoron and/or alliteration. James locked up the store and started his walk home. Tonight, as he stepped onto the evil path, he was unusually struck with fear. The harsh, wild winds whistling through the trees sent shivers down his spine. While tonight was really no different than any other, the frightening thoughts continued to be stuck in the prison of his mind. He imagined the living dead crawling out from the ground and ghosts and goblins growling on the winding path. The night, as black as coal, was in stark contrast against the brilliance of his cell phone, a comforting torch that was lighting his way.

Tkam: The Movie! Today, we’re going to watch the film version of To Kill a Mockingbird. As we watch, you will be expected to respond to the analysis questions, so make sure you pay attention! The film questions will be due at the end of the day – make sure you get them to me by then. Also, don’t forget IXL B.1 and B.2 are due today.
