Only actual reading experience can help L2 learners acquire linguistic, world, and topical knowledge needed to improve their reading skills. (Day & Bamford, 1998)

Research clearly shows that the more children read and are read to the better they can read and learn all other subjects. (SuperKids,1995–2007)

The importance of L2 reading ability has been highlighted by educators and policy makers. (SuperKids, 2007)

34% of business owners rank their high school educated employees as being deficient in reading comprehension skills that are critical for job success. (Conference Board, 2006; Perie & Moran, 2005).

Most of high school students have difficulty in learning L2 Language.

Grabe (1991) points out that the crucial importance of the reading skill in academic contexts and led to further studying.

Purposes of the Study -to define the factors that affect students’ L reading skills. -to provides practical information on how to promote effectively on L2 reading comprehension.

Research Questions -What kind of factors effect the senior high school students’ L2 reading comprehension? Do native language and the L2 have the same factors that effect students reading comprehension.

Literature Review Research shows that spending extended periods of
theme in front of television and computer has a negative effect on academic achievement. (Aslihan Erman, 2008)

Literature review There is a large literature which examines the potentially negative consequences of television viewership . (Gentzkow & Shapiro, 2006; MacBeth, 1996; Olken, 2006; Robinson et al.)

The data gathered by two means of data of collection. The students answer to the reading –text-based question were scored. The student answer the factors in five liker point questionnaires.

Participants 315 students studies at Da-Li Senior high school .
Gender : Female 161 Male Participants Nationality: Taiwan Age: Around 17 year old
