5 Promise Scholars Program (ASAP Replication) Components
Financial Support Fee waivers for the first full year Monthly transportation incentives (gas card or Clipper Card) Book voucher to offset the costs of textbooks and course materials Academic Support Promise Scholars Summer Institute Priority registration Blocked courses Required tutoring for students on academic probation Collaborations with academic departments to offer clear pathways to graduation Student Services Student-to-Counselor ratio of 150:1 Need-based counseling model Career and professional development support Peer mentoring Group counseling sessions and collaborative events Expectations Must commit to enrolling full-time (12 units or more each semester) for the duration of the program Must consistently participate in counseling requirements Must be a recent High School, GED or adult continuation graduate

A guided pathway integrates student services, the learning commons and instruction to create a cohesive student experience. Jessica

On ramp processes that help students into their college experience Intake processes that help students clarify goals for college and careers Intentional course sequences with clearly defined career and academic milestones Embedded counseling, academic support and feedback on student progress throughout their educational journey Jessica

Transformative Teaching and Learning embraces the limitless potential of all learners in a co-creative, relevant, and innovative environment that fosters curiosity and critical thinking and gives space to lived historical and cultural identities to change lives and communities. Individually, take a minute to read the student quote. On the sticky note provided, write down what stood out to you while reading the student quote. What challenge or issue do you think the student is bringing to light?
