5. Exaggeration Go to the extreme- make all good or all bad
Purpose- to show the silliness of an idea

6. Sarcasm say the opposite of what is intended (verbal irony)
Purpose-hide the insult/criticism behind humor so it is not as upsetting

7. Utopia & Dystopia perfect world- give an ideal for others to copy
Shows what is wrong by being omitted
exaggerate current errors to create a nightmare world

Often based on generalizations
“System” Religion, government, human nature
