Welcome to the Imagineers!
I am Ms.Garris – your science teacher.
3
Procedure: Line up outside the classroom GREET the teacher – it helps set the tone. Come in and get started on the warm up (take out supplies, write/answer warm up) QUIETLY await further directions

Group work (Garris rules search)
What are the FOUR school and team-wide expectations? What is ONE intervention? What SIX items should you have for science class? What are the FIVE categories for grades and what percentage is each? (Hint: what are you graded on) What is different about a warm up slip compared to an exit slip? What is the same? What are FOUR (out of seven) of the Lab rules? Explain what happens if you are not turning in homework. When (other than class time) can you see a teacher for help? When can you have out a cell phone? How much are textbooks?

Group work (cont’d) In the TEXTBOOK:
Where can you find the table of contents? What information does the table of contents provide? Which chapters are about the human body? Within the chapter about the digestive system, where can I find “essential questions”?

What if Everybody Did That?
You will find paper on your desk. You will use that paper to make “snowballs.” Listen for directions. Go ahead and write down something that was said to you that made you feel bad (sad, mad, unhappy, hurt). “I like your shoes!” – but it was said with a sarcastic tone that meant the emotion was negative, not positive.
14
What if Everybody Did That?
Notice the picture. What do you see? Describe. Give an emotion – Why? Which do you prefer? Why?
15
Check your desk. Please be INTENTIONAL! Place, don’t toss/throw.
Think about noise.

Are there any questions?
