3 A font is a set of characters that are designed to look the same.
Fonts A font is a set of characters that are designed to look the same. Ask students what if they have a font that they tend to use frequently, or even a “favorite font.”

4 Font styles are used to make text stand out to the reader.
Common examples include: Bold Underline Italics Color Before revealing, ask students if they can name some examples of font styles.

5 Font Effects Font effects are geared more toward technical writing and editing. Some examples include: Subscript (Subscript) Superscript (Superscript) Strikethrough (Strikethrough)

6 Headers and Footers The header is at the top of the page and the footer is at the bottom of the page. The header and footer can contain information such as page number, your name, the document name, and more. The same header and footer can appear on multiple pages.
