2 The Europe‘s myth In the Kingdom of the Tyre in Phoenicia was a beautiful princess her name was Europa. Her father was the king Aegon in Egypt. One day Europa had a dream where two continents visited her. First one was Asia and the other one didn't have a name. Then the continents started to quarrel which of them has the right to own her.

3 The Europe‘s myth When she woke up she went to the beach. Zeus saw her beauty and fell in love with her. He made a plan to kidnap her. He changed into a form of a big white bull. Europa was playing with her friends, when they saw the big white bull she climbed on his back, but then big white bull jumped into the sea. He carried Europa to the Crete. When they arrived at Crete he made her his wife.

4 What is the name of this coin? Why?
The name of this coin is Euro. There is a princess Europe on the back of a bull. It is an ancient Greek legend. According to the princess Europe, the continent got its name Europe.

5 What is depicted on it? Why?
On the coin there is a big white bull with a beautiful girl on its back. The coin has got 12 stars around the bull. The coin shows Greek legend about princess Europe who was kidnapped by Zeus transformed in the bull form because Zeus was in love with her.

6 What country is it from? How did you notice it ?
The coin is from Greece. I noticed it because the picture on the coin is from an old Greek legend. There is also a Greek alphabet.

7 Are you able to translate into your own language the two words written on the coin?
I think that first word on the coin means Euro. I can‘t translate the second word because it is in Greek alphabet.

8 Do you have the same currency in your country? Why?
No, we don´t have the same currency in our country. In the Czech Republic there is a Czech crown.

9 Painting od Europe The name of the picture is The Rape of Europa,
but it does not mean rape, it means kidnapping. The picture was painted by Guido Reni between It is in Barroque style. The picture is located in the National gallery, London, Britain. In the picture is Europa and she is sitting on the back of a bull and she is looking at an angel – Cupid (Amor) – the god of love. The picture is painted with oil on canvas.

10 Sculpture od Europe The name of the modern sculpture is Kidnapping of Europe. Autor of this sculpture is Nikos Kondourous. The sculpture was revealed on 3 November It is forged, made of brass with a granite base. It is located in Agios Nikolaos, Crete, Greece. The statue shows Europa sitting on the back of a bull. She is holdling a dove and a small globe.
