1 Community Speech Project
Created by Margaret Rybarczyk Butler University

2 What Is Most Important? The most important idea for this project is to resolve communication problems. We must remember to do it in a fun and exciting way.

3 About The Project We are going to be making a song.
This will allow the student to challenge their listening and speaking skills. It will help them articulate words and listen to songs all while having fun.

4 Directions Choose a topic Create lyrics Choose a beat
Put the song together

5 Thinking of a Topic Choose something that really interests you.
The song should be about something you have a lot to say on. Write about your passions, your interests, or even something you think is funny.

6 Creating the Lyrics Write about your topic in detail.
Make bullet points of your thoughts. Speak the lyrics out loud. Listen to your thoughts. What type of mood do these lyrics bring to you? Start thinking about a beat. What mood are you going to give the song?

7 Choosing a Beat Think of the mood of your song. Is is sad, happy, or even angry? Think of a beat that makes sense and corresponds to your lyrics. Make the beat and choose the lyrics you want to add to your song.

8 Putting Your Song Together
Put the beat and the chosen lyrics together. Form a song. It could be as simple or as extravagant as you want. Be creative!

9 Now What? Now that your song is finished, I would like you to listen to it. Memorized it. Just do your best. Really focus on the music and the sounds. Focus on what words and sounds you're forming. The words that give you the most trouble are the ones you should work on the most. Practice makes perfect!

10 Now that you are finished with your song and you have perfected it, record it. Send it to me. I want to see all of your great work :) Record It!
