Nobody ever knows every single thing about a given subject.
Besides, what one generation knows today came from a preceding generation.
Research makes people cultivate a thank-you attitude for ideas discovered or improved upon daily.
Human knowledge is interdependent.

6. If I need outside sources, where do I go?
The Internet (web sites and electronic databases)
The regular library (for books, periodicals--newspapers, magazines, and journals)
Hold interviews with people of experience and authority in area of discussion

7. What should my final paper look like?
Know the format required.
Is it MLA style you need to use?
Is it APA style you need to use?
Your writing instructions will tell you which style.
Then consult your textbook and other books to see how the relevant style is done.
