Discuss current indigenous initiatives in marine conservation and MPA establishment and management; Examine successes (failures) of relations between indigenous peoples and MPAs; Identify research and knowledge gaps in understanding of how MPAs and indigenous peoples are related; Develop research agenda to address gaps in above; Explore collaborative research arrangements among partners etc; and (Provide catalyst for MPA development in Canada)
