1 Bobcat Summer Reading

2 The Summer Reading Program is taking place at the Charleston County Public Library and website this year Their website is just the acronym for Charleston County Public Library or ccpl.org. Caption

3 REMEMBER that ALL students have ALREADY been registered for ccpl.org already! Their login is as follows: (to ccpl.org): click on summer reading and your appropriate age (teens) for students: username is same as CCSD username = 1st 3 letters of last name +1st 3 letters of first name + last 4 numbers of PowerSchool ID (jamchr0478). password = initials of first and last name + 6 digit birthdate (cj092406)

4 All ages, all of us in the Bobcat Family, can enjoy Summer Reading – adults can, too. Click on summer reading. Click on your age group. Fill out the form.

5 Read. It can be in books, magazines, graphic novels, or web content
Read! It can be in books, magazines, graphic novels, or web content. One page earns you one point. Listen! Download an audiobook or check out a book on CD at your favorite CCPL branch and earn a point per page in the standard print edition. Participate! CCPL’s hosting several literacy-based activities all summer to help you earn points toward prizes. CCSD has recently added 528 new books in Myon and Mackinvia – the digital apps in Clever that contain your CCSD library books for reading beyond our requirements. Please let Ms. Allegood know if you need help or your students need help accessing these books for the summer. We can schedule a short mini-lesson during enrichment or Character Ed.– sixth period. You can also find suggested summer reading lists from Library Media Services at CCSD on the media page on our school website for guidance on what to read, if you need it, after you complete your assigned reading.

6 The missions, as you can see on the ccpl
The missions, as you can see on the ccpl.org website, will be included as part of their ELA grade for next year. Please also see your one page handout, provided. Students will be required to hand in a hard copy of their missions to their ELA teacher in the fall. When you register and log your reading on the ccpl.org website, you are entered into drawings for prizes, can participate in activities, and the data comes to our school in the fall. As you know, studies show that students who read over the summer do not suffer from a drop in academic gains the way students who don’t read do. It’s fun! It’s relaxing! Relax and Read! Let Mrs. Bailey and/or Ms. Allegood and/or your public librarian at the Charleston County Public Library answer your questions or help in any way you need it!

7 Our school’s ELA requirement Missions for credit here and rewards at CCPL:
