Can be converted to a fraction or to a decimal.

To convert a % into a Decimal…
Move the decimal over two spots to the left and drop the %

Drop the percent sign put the number over 100 and reduce if possible

The tax on an car was 6% of its price. What was the price of the car if the tax was $633? -Price of car ? X -Tax is 6 % of price of car (x) -Total tax is $ (x) = 633 -Solve x = 633/0.06 x = 10,550 -Check the price of the car was $ If we find 6% of 10,550 we get $633 so it checks out
