2. League Of Nations
It was seen as the major crowning achievement of Versailles
BUT it proved ineffective at achieving its goal of peace
It was weak

4. 1st problem Not all major powers were members of the League
The United States chose not to join
They were afraid the League would force them to fight in foreign wars

Germany and Russia were not allowed to join
Germany allowed in 1926 but withdrew in 1933
