The last ice age 10,000 Tony collinson has been doing extensive research over the past 50 years about Walkington and has come in to the village hall to give talks about what he has found last time he came he started from the last ice age he also brought in some artefacts that he has found in or in the surrounding arias of Walkington he had some flint stone axe heads from a field at the north side of Walkington dating back to around the last ice age. 2/23/2019

Ghastly findings An ancient burial site discovered on the parish boundaries yielded headless skeletons .had these poor souls been beheaded or there skulls simply misplaced lost forever in the cold soil never to be found? 2/23/2019

The Vikings in Walkington
If the word ton is used at the end of a village name it probably means it was a Viking farm at one time or another evidence has been found of life stock and domestic animals bones that date back to the Viking era . Artists impression of a Viking farm/village 2/23/2019

Walkington primary school now and then
Walkington primary school now has an eco flag flying a brand new band stand and headmaster every thing is looking good as they stride toward the future Walkington primary school 1876 with only a handful of pupils and a small school house the future did not look verry bright . 2/23/2019
