The Department of Economics trains economists from various regions of the world, and enables them to apply the tools of modern analysis to the problems faced by different types of economies.
Similarly to other departments it provides students with an understanding of the functioning of markets and the role of the state in an economy relying predominantly on market allocation.
But it has a specific history and specific courses that make it more interesting than other economic departments.
