On the board…write responses to the following questions What do you look for in a friend? What words do you use to describe friends?

Friendship Ask yourself…
What do I know about this person? Do my parents/guardian know this person? Will they approve of me spending time with this person? Why is it important not only to build trust in a friendship but with your parents as well? Do your parents like your friends…if they don’t what happens?

Do you remember your 1st day of school…back in kindergarten… How did you make your first friend? Many friendships have a common link, what did you have in common? When initiating friendships ask questions to learn more about a person

Conversation – a verbal exchange of feelings, thoughts, ideas and opinions Rejection – the feeling of being unwelcomed or unwanted Balanced friendships – give/receive, helps not only emotional but physical health One-sided friendships – all giving or all receiving People Pleaser – a person who constaintly seeks the approval of others, people pleasers are usually insecure Takers & Users – take from others or use others to mee their needs.

My 1st Friend Write a 1 page paper about your first friend or best friend, how and when you met. Things that you enjoy/enjoyed doing together. If you are still friends today, etc.
