3 The Invasion of the Hyksos
Middle Kingdom weakened the Hyksos from Western Asia invaded Egypt and took over. Ruled Egypt for 100 years Very powerful warriors, rode horsebacks, bronze and iron weapons Kept culture and life separate from Egyptian Culture and life.

4 New Kingdom In 1500 BC Ahmose an Egyptian Prince drove the Hyksos out of Egypt. 1500 to 1070 BC the New Kingdom Existed. Prospered through: Trade and Conquest

5 Queen Hatshepsut Female Pharaoh took power after husband died.
Promoted great trade with the Phoenicians Ruled from 1473 BC to 1458BC

6 Egyptian Trade Egyptians traded the following mainly for WOOD, Furniture, and Purple Dye Wheat Paper Gold Copper Tin Tools

7 New Kingdom Politics Egyptian Dynasties made Alliances with other ruling families through marriage. (Places like Babylon, Hilites, and Mattani all in the Middle East) Envoy (Government Representative) were exchanged with multiple kingdoms 1st time in history that nations worked together to solve problems.

8 Thutmose III Strong Leader and General
Expanded Egypt into the North to the Euphrates River Slavery became common in this era many where Prisoners of War under Thutmose III rule. Egypt acquired gold, copper, and Ivory

9 King Tut Played a very small role in history Died around 18
Known best for his tomb being the first ever discovered whole. No on had ever disturbed his tomb leading to a whole new understanding of Egyptian Death rituals and beliefs.

10 Ramses II (Ramses the Great)
1279 BC to 1213 BC Conquered many Lands Reigned for 66 years

11 Egypt’s Decline BY 1150 BC Egyptian Rulers only controlled the Nile Delta The kingdom of Kush invaded in 850 BC taking over Egypt.

12 Nubia to the South of Egypt
Egyptians invaded in the 1400’s BC Nubians adopted many Egyptian Cultures (Gods, Hieroglyphics, and customs) In the Middle Kingdom Egypt was weaker- Nubians broke away from Egypt's rules.

13 Kingdom of Kush Invaded Egypt in 750 BC Ruled for 60 years
Lost Egypt to the Assyrians in 671 BC
