“Rethinking Sleep” Today you will complete a writing assessment individually. The assessment covers some of the same skills and content about effective arguments and thinking about sleep as in the unit. I will be assessing your work based on the quality of their textual evidence in your answer to the assessment prompt and how clearly you summarize Randall’s claims, reasons, and evidence.
8
“Rethinking Sleep” Independent Activity:
Write an essay that summarizes Randall’s argument and its reasons and evidence. Then explain how Randall’s argument is made more or less credible by his sources. Remember to: -Clearly state the argument that Randall is making. -Summarize Randall’s claims, reasons, and evidence. -Support your statements with evidence from the text. -Explain textual evidence you include.
