2. Pangu Started Sky and Earth
At the beginning, the whole world was a mass of gas with no light and no sound.
Pangu (盘古) used an ax and separated the sky and the earth.
The sky became higher and higher and the earth kept descending till the world looked like the same as today.

At the Beginning, there were ten suns in the sky, and people couldn’t bear the high temperature. Houyi (后羿) used a bow to shoot down 9 suns and only one sun left in the sky. Then the temperature became normal.

5. Nuwa Mend the Sky
When the world started, there were 4 pillars to support the sky. But two tribes fought with each other so hard that a corner of the sky was broken.
Nuwa (女娲) collected colorful stones, melted them together and mended the sky.

7. Chang’e Ran to the Moon
Chang’e, (嫦娥), the wife of Houyi (后羿) was a very pretty woman.
Houyi once got some medicine that could make a person live forever. Chang’e heard that and took the medicine.
Right after she took it, she felt her body was so light that she was flying up in the air. She flew and flew until she reached the moon.
Chang’e then had to live alone in the moon forever since she would never die. When you look at the moon, you’ll find some shadow – and that is Chang’e.
