Research and document the issues surrounding middleware-enablement of mailing list services
Collaborate with open source communities/developers interested in middleware integration
Implement a survey of current university mailing list administrators and users
Test-drive pilot/prototype solutions

4. MLIST Deliverables
Survey results and mapping of feature set to existing mailing list packages
A simple model of mailing list management software operations, with middleware enablement points identified.
At least one open-source list software prototype
Documentation describing methods for modifying open source list software for use in federated environments.
