All tests are designed to test skills, NOT previous knowledge

7. THE TEST 3 hours long (2 hours and 55 minutes)
includes a short break (between the 2nd & 3rd subtests)
215 scored questions
4 subject tests
English (75 questions)
Math (60 questions)
Reading (40 questions)
Science Reasoning (40 questions)
Writing (1 persuasive prompt)

8. SCORING ACT scores range from 1-36 Average score range: 17-23
This test only counts CORRECT ANSWERS
If you only get 53% of the test questions correct, you can still receive a composite score of 20
If you only get 63% of the questions correct, you will still have a score of 23
if you only get 75% correct, you will receive a 26

9. SHOULD YOU GUESS? YES! No penalty for wrong answers
Harder questions are worth the same as easier questions
Don’t waste time agonizing over one question--Guess and move on!
