1-Former state of language teaching in STA
Different degrees: Classics, Greek, Latin, etc. Presence of language in each of them. Differences in programme for each language. Too large a jump from grammar to texts.

3-Parametres to be kept Inter-relationship language-literature within the same module. Prose Composition does not fit into Sub-Honours.

First scrutiny: LT 1001/2 - LT 1003/4 Second scrutiny: language reinforcements, both in 1st and 2nd years

5-Main objectives a) External changes
Make undiscussible the condition of “instrumental subject” (“engineerising”?) Uniformise Latin and Greek: Equal number of assessed tests Equal weight of literature content Equal exams 2nd years: uniformise language reinforcements into a “bridge level” Introduce Prose Composition

b) Internal changes Internal improvements in each language Create a programme for language reinforcement (see handout) Increase the material given “per hour” (“engineerising”?) Raise exam requirements (“engineerising”?)
