DISCUSSION
Take out your mood board of album covers, choose 1 of them and start to decide how it could be adapted to make a completely different cover. Discuss this with a peer and offer ideas to their new design; take on board their ideas for your design also.

Now…in order to create your own, altered album cover version, you need to collect the imagery that you require, there are 2 ways to do this:
PRIMARY SOURCE (Photography) – this is the best type of resource because it develops your skills. You MUST do this where it is possible, i.e. if you can access what you need to take the photos.
SECONDARY SOURCE (Found imagery) – these will usually be from the Internet, books and magazines.

5. TASK
60 minutes
Think about your initial idea for your altered album cover…what imagery do you need? Can you get photographs? Will you have to rely on secondary imagery?
EITHER:
Produce a series of photographs (print contact sheet and annotate) and print a selection of best ones to use,
and/or
2) Produce some pages of relevant secondary imagery, print out and document

6. PREP.WORK
Take more photos outside of school where appropriate and ensure you have all the imagery you need for the next lesson.
In addition, choose 3 album covers and analyse them in detail – think about the different considerations on your mind map.

7. Annotate your contact sheets/imagery pages

Review the imagery that you have already collected – discuss them with your peers to see if there are any that you are missing.
