March 2003 TG3 Status This Week Addressed all of the 67 technical comments from the second sponsor ballot 47 of the resolutions have been accepted Next Steps Anticipate going to 15-day Sponsor Ballot recirculation on Draft 17 after this session Wish to use Procedure 10 to get conditional approval after the recirculation to submit to RevCom in May M. Low Power UWB Interest Group Status
March 2003 Low Power UWB Interest Group Status General An interest group was formed to gauge the response to a UWB PHY for 15.4 This Week A tutorial of low-power UWB was given during the session At the mid-week plenary decided not to form a study group 16 Y (form a SG) 17 N (do not form a SG) 17 Abstain Most commenters felt that restricting the PHY to UWB at this time was premature Next Steps Evaluate interest in moving forward with an alternate PHY for 15.4 M. March 2003 SG15.1a Status General There is need to generate a maintenance PAR for 15.1 to incorporate errata The Bluetooth™ SIG is nearing release of V1.2 of the spec This Week Tom Siep proposed creating a Study Group to add V1.2 of the spec to 15.1 in addition to incorporating the errata as an amendment to 15.1 At the mid-week Plenary decided to form a study group, 15.1a, to address these issues 10 Y (form a SG) 7 N (do not form a SG) 14 Abstain Next Steps Determine if the Bluetooth™ SIG can work with under the IEEE open standards committee rules, unlike the past M.
