Teach the meaning of breakfast. I’ll write these symbols on the board at this stage. I put natto in the back but they won’t know what it is (breakfast food). Might get some reactions from it as it does look pretty disgusting!

Therefore, 朝食 means BREAKFAST. I’ll wait for students to give a response. I’ll Explain these are normal Australian types of breakfast.

I only put this slide on so you can see what I am going to teach. Then it can lead on to the synthesising task.

We will then explain that students have to interview each other with the survey sheet.
Explain the survey sheet.
Put “maru” or “batsu” in the box depending on answer.
We can demonstrate first one.
