Extended Access Dronfield-Eckington-Killamarsh
1st September 2018 to 31st March 2020

What is the capacity requirement?
Increased hours of access: 6:30pm to 8:00pm Mon to Fri 3 hours per day Sat & Sun That’s 13.5hrs per week Bank holidays 30 minutes of increased capacity per week per 1000 patients. That’s hrs per week Once we have covered the required additional opening hours (requirement A), any remaining requirement can be achieved by: Adding a 2nd clinician during the extended access time period (e.g. 2 clinicians 6:30pm to 8:00pm) Extending the extended access session into core hours (e.g. 1 clinician 5:00pm to 8:00pm)

Appointments Standard appointment length is 15 minutes.
Appointments have to be advertised to patients and directly bookable by patients or practice staff. Appointments are bookable via the patient’s own practice only.

How many appointments will we provide per session for each practice?

Administration Each session will be supported by a receptionist. These roles have all been filled by staff employed by The Valleys Medical Partnership.

Access The practice will be closed other than for patients with extended access appointments. Extended access patients will be able to contact the practice by phone if required (specific option on phone system during extended access period). Access to the building will be via intercom & remote release door.

Data Sharing The Valleys Medical Partnership clinicians will have access to the full patient record for those patients who have booked an appointment for an extended access session. They are unable to see any patients that have not booked an appointment through their own practice or where they cannot view the full medical record (this is a requirement of the service specification).
