Ex 2 main sources: heat from the sun and heat flowing out of the earth

Thin layer of gases that forms Earth’s outermost layer Ex. Where weather occurs; mostly nitrogen and oxygen

5. Geosphere Earth’s solid rocks and metals
Ex. 3 main parts: a metal core, a solid middle layer, and the rocky outer layer

6. hydrosphere Layer of the Earth that contains all Earth’s water
EX. Lakes, streams, oceans, etc.

7. Biosphere
The parts of the Earth that contain living organisms

8. Constructive Forces
Forces that construct or build up mountains and other landforms
Ex. Volcanoes and earthquakes

9. Destructive Forces
Forces that tear down or destroy land through erosion and weathering
