Empowering through health Page 20: The Brain
We will watch a short clip to explore the symptoms of a stroke. Why do these occur? Open to Page 20 and title your page according to the slide. As the video is playing we will list the signs of a stroke on the first four lines of the page. After the video: A stroke occurs when the brain does not receive enough blood to function. 1. Why would these symptoms occur if the brain does not have blood?

PRACTICE OUR KNOWLEDGE
We will do the following activity in partner groups. Please find a partner at your table group. One of you will have to be okay with having some stickers… SIMON SAYS… I will put a part of the brain up on the board. WITHOUT referencing your notes, place a sticker on the appropriate area of your partners head. NO CHEATING! Don’t look around the room!
